Meet Bo

A lot has happened since we finished our house (that took many, many hours) but was well worth it! Moms room is next to the bathroom which makes it easier for her to get around. All in all I would say things are going pretty good! We got a new addition 2 weeks ago in the form of a mini donkey it belonged to my nephew who got it from a petting zoo. The little guy is 2 years old and as sweet as can be. I fell in love the first morning he “loudly” greeted me.  ðŸ˜Š
This is Bo and he says hello
I’m glad I am starting my blog again, it kinda feels like greeting an old friend! One you didn’t realize you missed and then think why did you stop....

Chewy, ice and the pond

This was a very pretty snow, wet and cold, but pretty this is the beginning of our driveway
When I walked down to the pond to break the ice one morning for the cows there animal tracks all over the pond.....
A few days later when I broke the ice I found the culprit.......she was rolling around on the pond that was not so frozen anymore.....our 100 pound chewy.....I worry when she is out doing her nightly rounds now she is going to make me worry when the ponds are only semi-frozen

Chewy

Chewy is such a good dog, she watches out for our cows and goats, gets mean when coyotes come near the house (have seen her after them). On the other hand though she is also so gentle with my grand daughter, we could not ask for a more well rounded dog Great Pyrenees are excellent!

Tator

This is my 5 pound Yorkie Tator, I just brought her home from the vet yesterday she is my little house dog and was sorly missed. I had her in the vets last week with fever and not eating, they gave her antibiotics and sent us home, 2 days later we were back she still had fever and was still not eating. This time the vet kept her and ran tests, they found a 3 inch tumor in her tummy, so the next day they operated and for the next 2 days did not know if she was going to make it. On the third day she started doing better and trying to eat so the following day we got to bring her home. :) As you can tell by the picture the trip home took a lot out of her! One of her favorite things to do is to look out the window so I put blankets on the couch and moved the couch over to the window so she could lay and look out. She spent most of the day yesterday laying with her back leg propped up, she was comfy but also miserable. She is 9 years old so I guess her age did not help with recovery it took her little longer to bounce back. Today though I am happy to say she is walking around (slowly) and wanting to go bye bye! The vet called and the tumor was not cancer so we are so very happy! :D

Hay Bale and Sparky

This is what Sparky did most of last Saturday afternoon, while we both worked! He did keep an eye on us the whole time (guess that counts for something)....who ever said a dogs life was hard?

Sparky my protector

This is Sparky, he is hubby's dog and they both love each other to pieces! Give Sparky an inch with hubby and he will take the proverbial mile.

This is what happens when hubby puts wood in the fire on the weekends, usually by now though he has ended up in hubby's lap. Sparky has not a care the world when he is with hubby.
During the week when I put wood in the stove at night this is what I get. I am in the wood shed while he has his back to me looking from side to side and every so often he lets out a deep growl. Sparky and hubby may be best buddies, but he is my protector. :)

Chewy always on guard.....

This is a picture of my beloved Chewy taken yesterday, always alert never sleeps and ready to tackle anything that comes along...oh wait no mom's looking with camera in hand....

Jump's up looks to the right then to the left

This is my beloved Chewy, always alert and ready to tackle anything that comes along! Coyotes, wolves, other dogs etc. She is alert (24/7 this is what she wants me to think) always on her paws and always has her animals backs! :)
She really is a sweetheart, good with the animals she protects and a very hard working dog :)

Sparky and the Vet

One of the items on our list while hubby was on vacation was to get Sparky neutered he just turned one year old and it was time. At first this was a game to him  (poor baby) he loves car rides! Everything was fine except when we got in the vets office, this is when he knew something was amis!
He calmed down after a few minutes, then the vet came in and called him by name....
That was it, he was going home!
All our dogs are either spayed or neutered and I hated it each time when we had to go to the vet. I still believe though it is for the best, everything went fine with Sparky until the next day.
We were cutting wood and he didn't feel like getting out of the truck (what is it with the animals sticking out their tongues when I take a picture) so he just sat and watched...
But of course, if anything goes on with the animals (they are all spoilt) it is always my fault. When I tried to get him to get out of the truck he would not look at me only at hubby (hubby was beside the bed of the truck). Of course then hubby went and helped him out of the truck. Then he ran around the truck, bouncing around like nothing ever happend and wanting another ride, just when I was starting to worry about him! :)

Chewy

This is Chewy our Great Pyrenees she is a 2 1/2 years old and a big help around here. The cows and goats are her territory to take care of and she does a great job. She does leave them though (for a few minutes) when we leave she walks beside the car as far as the upper field, then she sets and watches us leave. On our return home she is again in the upper field (watching) then when we get beside her she again walks beside the car back home, then walks us to the yard. When we are all in the house she goes back to her cows or goats, as a farm dog she is all around perfect! and as a family dog she is sweet, well mannered and very much loved
This is her walking beside the car on our way
home this morning
This is her back at work, she is the white spot way over
to the right of the cows :)

guard dog....dogs?...

I think hubby has his hands full Sparky his dog (setting against his back) and Calista our goat (that thinks she is a dog) standing in front of him, both try to protect him from what ever predator that is out there!! It's comical watching them both one will be on his left, the other on his right and if any other animal comes near they run them off. :)

Pip and Yoda

Pip is the one on the left (black and white boxer) with Yoda (his son) on the right. This picture I took at about 7am, don't know why they were setting like this but they did not move even when I stepped out on the porch to take the picture. I couldn't help but share.  :)

Chewbacca

Chewy is our great pyranese, we got her a few years ago from the previously mentioned Paul farm. She keeps an eye on everything for us, even herds my grandkids when they try to run too far from the house (she does this with the same circling while moving closer to the house that she uses for the goats, it is adorable). The other day I was in one of the cow fields amd found her sleeping in one of the hay rings.

At first I was confused about the giant ball of fluff covered in hay. I couldn't tell it was her. So I started out across the field to investigate. As I got closer I realized it was Chewy and snapped a picture then continued my walk. As I got closer to her, she heard me and immediately jumped to attention.

Her body language was screaming "I'm looking at the cows, that's all I do. I'm not sleeping on the job. I'm watching the cows, I promise". I nearly fell down laughing at her sudden rigid posture and perfect attention. This dog is a riot.
