Hot Mocha Coffee

I love coffee! Hot Coffee, Iced Coffee, Carmel Mocha , French Vanilla... Well I guess you get the idea, anyway here is one of my go to recipes I keep in the fridge, mainly adapted because..coffee houses are expensive. Even Starbucks at the local grocery store is off the charts compared to making it yourself :)

1/4 cup Hershey CoCo
1 cup brown sugar loose packed
4 teaspoons white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup of Sweetened Condensed milk

Add water, brown sugar, white sugar and coco powder to a sauce pan and warm on low heat, when sugars are dissolved, set aside to cool (about 5 minutes) then add vanilla and sweetened condensed milk and transfer to a glass container (I use a half pint ball jar or sometimes a creamer container) and store in the fridge until ready to use. Although I have not kept it in the fridge longer than one week.
When ready to use I add 1 1/2 Tablespoons (or more) :) of the syrup to a strong cup of coffee and I also add about 1/4 cup of evaporated milk (or whole milk) to the cup stir and enjoy! I use this in my hot coffee, I have another recipe I use for Iced Coffee that is oh sooo good, will share this at a later date!  Oh but when I  really want a calm set down (slap hand, but then proceed!) I add whipped cream with a drizzle of Carmel on top....mmmm think I'll go have a cup....
Almost forgot, this also makes really good Hot CoCo just add 2 Tablespoons to a cup of hot milk, stir and top with a little whipped cream (like in the above picture) enjoy :)

Kombucha

My Kombucha order came in today! I am so happy I had to take a picture of the box! Sorry sounds kinda weird I guess, anywho now next week I can try to make my own scoby, so excited!

This is what my coveted bottles look like
This is the fizz when the bottle is opened
Sorry I thought the words would be a little more clear, anyway its all organic and filtered water is used. I couldn't get a good picture of the liquid, but it has little things floating around in it if you look close). It has to have these little floating things in it  to make a scoby
I cant wait to start my post on making my own scoby,  from what I gathered on the internet this will take between 5 to 6 weeks to make and from what I understand this batch of tea is strong, so just throw it away. Once the scoby is obtained though the batch of tea I make with the scoby does not take as long and can be drank. Wish me luck! If it does not work for me (the glass is always half full) I can just keep ordering it from the above company! :)

Kombucha

Yah! I am happy, I finally found a health food store that would order some kombucha tea for me (the order will be in monday :). The health food store I had gotten it from many times before went out of business so I have not been able to purchase any for over a year. I did have to order a case which is a dozen bottles but that is fine with me I am just happy I found some! This time I am going to try to make my own, I have read a lot on the subject so fingers crossed, wish me luck!
Now if I could find some kefir grains I would be a happy camper!
