I Won :)

I have had a lot of things going on lately that has made it hard to be home long enough to get on the computer.... I have to say though most of the things were good and the one that could have been bad has so far turned out good so that's all that counts! :) Anyway I have been following an interesting blog for a while called http://oklahomatransient.blogspot.com/ ....well when she had a give away I entered....and I WON :) I received the package in the mail earlier this week and I love it! I have been checking around and if I can find out where to purchase these lights I would like three more! Thanks Sandy :) I think when I get to 75 followers I will also do a give away I had a lot of fun.

These would make great Christmas gifts if I can
find where to get them before Saturday.

This and that

 

With all the rain we have been getting lately and the weather getting cooler the pond in the barn lot is starting to clear up. I guess because this pond is so much smaller than the two in the fields and also with the draught this is why it got so yucky! The bigger ponds stayed clear all summer, with the pond above I just closed the gates so no animals would try to drink from it. In retrospect though I don't think they would have animals are smart and know what they like.

My grand son (he is 4) had a little mishap at my sister-in-laws (his Aunts) the other day, he was so excited he got to spend the night and play with the other kids......he was running and fell on the concrete sidewalk and took a nose dive poor little guy.

My grand daughter lost her tooth on the same day her brother almost broke his nose.....

My son got a promotion at work last week :)

I have gotten so far behind this week, with Sid's surgery next week it seems I cant get my mind on much else. This was my week to get things ready for winter and the only things I  did actually accomplish is getting plastic on the porch and two windows, rolling up two hoses and getting the chicken house winterised. I decided yesterday morning everything can wait until the end of next week (after surgery) so Sid, Mom and Sparky and I spent the day goofing around and ended it with chocolate ice cream. Sparky does so love rides and Sid so loves her ice cream! :)

Missing summer, but looking forward to winter

These came up wild at the beginning of our driveway (on either side) a few years ago and have came back every year since, they make me smile when I come home.

It never seems to amaze me that weeds make the most beautiful and delicate of flowers.

Ducks do so love water, not sure what to do with them when winter hits (first year for ducks). Just noticed the duck (bottom right) her head is facing one way and her feet another.....looks odd....

and of course this is Patches, I don't know why some of my goats stick their tongues out at me...must be a goat thing

Chewy decided a few weeks ago that she could watch the cows when they are in the upper field from the comfort of hubby's company truck when he is home.

I am also in the process of making a list of everything that I canned, froze and dehydrated this year so I know how much to plant next year.....then it will be the weekend and time to start cutting our winters wood, I love the changing seasons and it really does feel good to stay busy! :)

 

Baby chicks inside their feed container

I was missing four baby chicks this morning, I found them in their feed container. A quart jar fits on top and holds the feed, they crawled inside and up into the quart jar sometime last night. So this is what I saw when I took off the quart jar. They looked so cute!

School and a post and the post won!

A certain little girl ran into a post at school today, just as school was getting out so we had to visit the nurse. The nurse told her she may have her first black eye, I don't know about that but her little nose is sure turning red my poor baby!

Jet Trails

Seem like I am seeing more and more jet trails in the sky lately. Two of today's trails speak for themselves X marks the spot!....

Months early

Sad, wrong time of the year..I am sure they will not bloom at Easter this year and the cold weather will probably get them next week!

Hay Bale and Sparky

This is what Sparky did most of last Saturday afternoon, while we both worked! He did keep an eye on us the whole time (guess that counts for something)....who ever said a dogs life was hard?

What is it with the animals sticking their tongues out at me lately KK makes the third one in the last two weeks! :) It seems to be only when I am taking their picture....do you think they know something :p

Pie with a face?

I hope I am not the only one that see's faces
(sometimes) in things...

With this emotional pie I hope it tastes better than it looks! My grand daughter saw it and said don't eat that one nanny. Thank goodness the rest of my pies look good I would hate to spend the day baking for tomorrow and they all look like this!

Rosie

Changing Seasons

I love the changes around us before winter, one
of my favorites is the look of the ponds early in
the mornings This unfortunately is all to short
lived ice and snow are just around the corner!

Eye's in the Forest

 Can you guess who these four sets of eye's belong to?

They cross our driveway about every third day and last night I wanted to get a picture of them. They are on their way to bed down so it is usually getting dark (can't get a good picture). The "eye's in the woods" were all I have been able to get, they are gorgeous two does with two young ones.

Halloween and Goats...?

I have gotten an early start on Christmas this year (all items are being made) Yah!  I was not thinking Halloween but I guess my goats are!! :) I put this bale of hay in were they bed down at night and after a couple of weeks this is what I found this morning....(at least they were creative)

Unexpected Rose

We had Rose bushes on either side of the walk one on the right (it bloomed a month ago) and one on the left. The one on the left died so I cleaned it out a couple of months ago and was going to plant another one. But when we got up this morning look what a surprise we had! Its just one tiny plant with a good sized Rose on it that looks to big for the plant to hold up.

Pretty ain't it! :)

Clouds Before a Storm



My daughter Melissa took this picutre before a bad storm a few weeks ago. I dont know if anyone else will see this but I see the front of a ship with a face on it. I see one eye, nose, chin and kinda like a chimney on the head? Anyway I liked it.
