Hubby's wake up call

Life has been going so good the past couple months we just got a stressful bill paid off and now its just the two left.....life is finally looking up.....Never think at 48 and 50 of a major health problem occurring, I just thank God it happened when it did! Jim (hubby) works in a lot of areas that are really in the boonies building structures a lot of times its in the middle of corn fields, no hospitals near......Jim came home Saturday stopped by our grandsons birthday party then went home to get some hunting in before dark. He was not home a half hour when he comes walking in the house sweating with both arms hurting and also under his tongue. We went straight to the hospital they took him right back, treated him as a heart attack, shipped him to another hospital and they did a cardiac cath, the main artery that feeds the bottom of the heart was over 90 percent blocked so two stints were put a small space apart in that artery. The Dr knows there was heart damage because of the numbers in his blood but he could not see damage during the cardiac cath because of the fast acting people in the ER :)
Thanks to the quick actions of the Nurses and Doctors at both hospitals, Jim can go home and with a few lifestyle changes (smoking and diet) go back to what he normally does :)
Now after four days in the hospital we are just watching TV and waiting to see if he gets to go home today or tomorrow. The Dr also came in this evening and again explained to us that the blockage is called the widow maker because there is usually no symptoms ....then major heart attack. We have been given a second chance he explained and he was taking extra time to make sure we understood , change or he will be a " frequent flier". Life is so good and to be given a second chance....we feel so blessed, blessed that everything feel into place like it did and blessed that we have more time together! Jim and I have been together 32 years and if I have my way it will be another 32 years at the least! :)

  2. There are foods that are good artery scrubbers. You can find them in online articles. Glad he's okay.
