We had both Cookie and Eve give birth within hours of each other on March 15! Problem was I only had the one birthing stall ready so I had to hurry and prepair the 2nd stall. Both mommies are doing fine, Cookie on the left had a single birth and Eve on the right had twins. With cookie just having the one he would make two of Eve's boy and girl, he is huge!
We had a fairly bad storm/s the evening the babies were born, the picture on the left is how the sky looked over the barn lot (after the first storm) and the picture on the right is behind the house (before the second storm).
Awww.... those babies are adorable! I have read that when one goat goes into labor, something about it triggers labor in any others that are close to their due date. (same for them coming into cycle) But that was still close.
ReplyDeleteMine like to have theirs during storms, too, and at this moment, it has been raining/storming for about 24 hours and still much more to come (I'm up to about 8 inches now). So I am REALLY hoping they hold their legs together until it all stops.
Those weather pictures are B E A U T I F U L ! ! ! !
Looking back, if I remember right a lot of our girls have had babies during storms. I have spent a lot of stormy nights in the barn with animals :) I hope your girls did ok during your storm.

They did fine. No babies yet. Thanks!
DeleteCongrats! Happy to hear both mommies and the babies are doing fine. Sure are cute!
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a picture you got of the storm. The bottom one almost looks like a fire.
