Frozen Cubes of Goats Milk

This is my milk goat Calista, she is the only one being milked at this time. She gives 2 1/2 quarts a day this is more than we drink, with the milk cow and all so.......
I spent the better part of the day freezing the extra milk in ice cube trays
I store the cubes in dated freezer bags this way I can remove the amount I need. Freezing in the ice trays also makes it easier for me to get the exact amount I need for whatever type of soap I am making. Doing it this way, when I want to make soap at the drop of a hat I have all my ingredients close at hand, even if I am not milking one the goats at that time. :)

  1. Hi Kim, Neat way to save milk for your soap... Sounds like Calista gives you more than enough milk!!

You asked about places to visit.. Two places came to mind....
    1. Williamsburg/Jamestown/Yorktown (Virginia)---lots of history, crafts, beach nearby, wonderful place...

    2. St. Augustine, FL.... Another town with tons of history, shops, crafts, and a nearby beach.....

You should google both of those places and get more information...

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  2. I'm so glad you found your little goat and she was able to thaw out. You and Shirley were very lucky indeed. And now you have a freshened cow...cool. You are going to over-whelmed with milk! We milked for 20 years. I miss the cow, the milk, and that time. Enjoy.

    1. Thanks we were very lucky with Shirley! I have only been milking a cow for three years, goats for two and I do enjoy the fresh milk (butter, cheese) :)
