Our animals make me laugh....

We are in the middle of taking all the dirt off the top of our cellar, so we can replace it, its taking forever to take the dirt off by hand! It only took the goats a few hours to realize the door was removed and they had another place to play. This is Tyler on his way into the cellar, its 106 outside and they are smart enough to realize its cool down there.
This is Gilbert (our bottle baby) he found an empty sack in the barn lot and somehow got inside the sack and this is how I found him yesterday morning, he could not figure how to back up so he stood there screaming for me....
This is sweetie, she is the first to pick her spot to lay her egg every morning (always the 4th box). We have 8 nest set up but the hens prefer the 4th and the 6th box's and they fight for those two (I cant tell the nests apart). I have seen hens get into sweetie's spot and try to shove her out and one hen even squeezed in next to her and lay her egg...sweetie will not budge until the afternoon when all the hens have lay and no one is interested then she will come out and eat.
Shadow loves hiding in the rafters of the barn
And of course Cuddles is always doing something to make me laugh, for some reason lately she likes walking around with a piece of grass sticking out the side of her mouth.....

  1. What's this cellar if I could ask? A cellar in the UK is under a house but I take it yours isn't? Must be a great place for storing food etc.

    1. Yes thats exactly what it was built for storing food in and also a place to go in case of a tornado. This one was made in 1894 the walls are 2 foot thick concrete with a concrete floor. The walls are in pretty good shape considering the age, there are a few chips in the concrete but not yet crumbling. I hope when we get into it its worth repairing. I like old so much better than new! :)
