Getting ready to make soap again

I am back at trying my hand at making soap, what has put a bee in my bonnet and got me started again you may ask? Its looking at cocobongsoaps blog she makes some of the prettiest soaps! It makes me want to take a nice long relaxing bath....but then they are so pretty I would want to put them on the vanity and not let anyone touch! :) I am just making plain soap to use, but seeing hers makes me want to do more (or should I say try)....have got to order some from her sometime! I am sure they work as good as they look!. If you get a chance run over to her blog, you will love them!  Just got out all my items to make the soap from storage, pan, scales etc..... I am going to make some over the weekend, wish me luck! :D

  1. Good luck! Can't wait to hear how it turns out.

  2. WOW . . . I often wondered how a someone made soap. That sounds like something that would really be a lot of fun and rewarding besides!

  3. Kim,
I found your blog through Eclectic Culture Farms. I have a Scoby and I have made Kefir both water and milk and I purchased them from www.kefirlady.com. Marilyn is so nice and she is very knowledgeable about her kefir. She'll send you printed information and all. I could mail you a scoby but I don't know how it would fair in this weather, but it's worth a try if you are willing.
We also homeschool. I've homeschooled for sixteen years and I have to say it has been a blessing....hard but a blessing! I wanted to homeschool but I didn't think I could do it. I bought some curriculum in 1995. I started in the summer with the reasoning that if I couldn't do it I would send her and her brother to school in the fall. It was really not that hard. Erika was in the 3rd grade and I just did a lesson with her each day from each of her subjects.
Pray with your husband and seek the Lord. Check your state laws and fill out a few papers and send them in to your school system in the fall. I believe a lot of people start not knowing a lot but learn as they go.

    In Christ,

  4. Hi Lon, nice to meet you! Yes it is :)
Hi Kim glad you found my blog also and thanks for the help on homeschool. I will also call Marilyn thanks for the heads up I appreciate it. Excited about the Kefir and the Scoby maybe you can keep me up to date on how yours is going! Thanks on the offer to ship me one, wish I knew if it would be ok.

  5. Good luck! Love your header!
