The water comes out of the ground below the tree on the left in this picture. This place, when I was a child was my favorite place to set and draw or to just think. This is still one of my favorite places here on our farm.
This is a dry creek, you can see behind the water that there is no water its dry as far as our property line and I assume farther back. Under the brush in the center of this picture the water is always coming out.
There are 10 big rocks here, water comes out from under this one rock. There are a few other areas that water comes out, but they are small. In the winter these four areas of course never freeze so the cows have a continuous clean water supply. I know this but even so every day when the water freezes I break a big spot in the pond below the house, it just makes me feel better that I can see that they can get to water, not that I ever see them drink from the pond when I break the area....... :)
Beautiful photographs! When I lived in Arkansas we had a spring. It had the cleanest, coldest, purest, tastiest water. What a treasure a spring is.
ReplyDeleteI love this area also, have lived here my whole life. Hubby and I have visited Arkansas 4 times I found a few places there that I would love to live! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place you have! I read a few of your posts, and now I'm a new follower. Looking forward to going back a little farther to read more.
